Jeff Nerland is a senior director at SierraConstellation Partners with more than 30 years of experience advising underperforming companies, both domestically and internationally. He is particularly skilled in leading mergers and acquisitions, performing operational and financial restructurings, and creating business plans to improve stability and profitability for clients. Mr. Nerland has experience in a wide variety of industries, including aerospace, contracting, distribution, home furnishings, transportation, manufacturing, real estate and retail.
Prior to joining SCP, he was a partner at CRG Partners where he held several senior level positions including chief financial officer and chief restructuring officer, successfully improving revenue, cash flow and profitability.
Mr. Nerland received a bachelor’s degree in business management from Indiana University. He earned a master’s degree in finance, graduating with honors from the University of Southern California (USC). During his time at USC, he taught strategic planning in the Undergraduate School of Business.
- Provided an operational assessment of a $50 million lumber distribution and truss manufacturing company, including developing a wind-down plan and negotiating a forbearance agreement with the secured lender. Sold significant company assets which led to full repayment of the secured lender.
- Developed a business investment assessment for the shareholders (four private equity groups) of an $85 million aerospace company.
- Led the strategic, financial and operational assessment of a $130 million apparel manufacturer.
- Prepared feasibility analysis for a manufacturer of traffic signals to consolidate four facilities into one and achieved $3 million in annual savings.
