Josh Caldwell is a Senior Associate in SierraConstellation Partner’s Houston office. His experience in operational and financial analysis, including financial modeling, forecasting and cash-flow restructuring enables him to rapidly identify solutions to the unique issues and challenges faced by SCP’s clients who are underperforming or in transition.
Prior to joining SierraConstellation Partners, Josh was employed by a Houston middle-market CPA firm that provided accounting, consulting and wealth management services across a broad array of industries, including oil & gas, real estate, construction, manufacturing and healthcare. During his tenure, Josh was the only financial planning and analysis analyst for the firm, where he was responsible for creating and maintaining all financial information, including partner presentations. Prior to that, he was an associate at DistributionNOW where he focused on mergers, acquisitions and process improvement.
Josh received his bachelor’s degree in finance from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas.
He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Commercial Finance Association, the Turnaround Management Association, the Association for Corporate Growth and is on the TMA Houston NextGen Committee.
- After Hurricane Harvey devastated the Texas Gulf Coast in 2017, Josh proactively restructured his firm’s cash flow, budgets and projections to increase lines of control and presented these to the firm partners, together with key insights, to modify the firm’s economic expectations.
- As the only FP&A analyst at an accounting firm, he developed an attrition tracking system to show when and why clients (organic or acquired) would exit the firm. Based on his analysis, the firm was able to self-analyze its weaknesses that spurred a key performance indicator project.
- As an associate, he provided due diligence, valuation and analysis supporting $359M in acquisitions.
